Resurfacing work has begun on Craigmount Avenue North, and is due to begin soon on Craigmount Park.
Local councillor Ed Thornley said, "It's good to finally see light at the end of the tunnel on this, especially given the promises that have been made, and then let down, on Craigmount Park.
"It was supposed to be done alongside the Terrace, Grove, Avenue and Gardens, but the damage was so severe it then had to be done separately! I look forward to this finally getting underway.
"There have been delays on Craigmount Avenue North, which have stalled works, and we ae working to get these moving again so residents are inconvenienced for as little time as possible."
Robert has been a councillor for Drum Brae/Gyle for over 30 years and he lives locally in Barntongate.
Robert was unanimously elected as Edinburgh's Lord Provost, meaning he chairs meetings of the Council and is also the civic head of the city and the ex-officio Lord Lieutenant of Edinburgh.
Robert has a long record of service and action for and with the local community and he has a strong reputation for getting things done.
For all his time as a councillor, Robert has fought to protect local green spaces from development. Most recently he opposed the recently rejected development proposals for yet more housing on greenbelt at Cammo.
