Dog Fouling in Drum Brae

7 Jun 2025

After several complaints from residents, the Lib Dem team have been working with the Council to reduce dog fouling in parts of Drum Brae, particularly around Morven Street, Torrance Park and Balfron Loan.

Residents told the team that, because the fouling was often directly outside houses, wheelchairs and pushchairs would get in on their wheels and then track it through people's homes.

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, "Picking up after your dog is basic good manners, and it's a shame that some people don't do so. I've spoken to residents who go out to clean it up themselves, but they shouldn't have to.

“Council officers have conducted additional patrols in Drum Brae, and signs are to be put up, so hopefully we will see some improvement.”
