Water of Leith

4 Jul 2025

Essential improvement works are set to begin along the Water of Leith between Roseburn Cliff and Wester Coates this July, aiming to prevent riverbank erosion and protect the walkway. The project will also support the local ecosystem by preserving habitats for the river's diverse plant and animal life.

The works are expected to last around two months. During this time, the section of the Water of Leith Walkway between Roseburn Cliff and Wester Coates — including the access path to Wester Coates Gardens — will be closed to all pedestrians and cyclists.
