Colinton/Fairmilehead

Charlene Kay lives in the Colinton/Fairmilehead ward with her husband and three children and is your Liberal Democrat candidate for Colinton/Fairmilehead in the 2027 City of Edinburgh Council elections.

She is a former Parent Council Chair, a youth football coach, an active member of the Scottish Assembly of Parents and Carers, and a campaigner with Smartphone Free Schools Edinburgh. Professionally, Charlene works as a postdoctoral breast cancer researcher with the University of Edinburgh and the NHS and has also been an altruistic kidney donor, reflecting her commitment to helping others both professionally and personally.

Charlene said,"I am passionate about local politics because I have seen first-hand the positive difference it can make to people's lives and to our communities here in Edinburgh. Through my work with Smartphone Free Schools Edinburgh and other local initiatives, I have seen how decisions made at a local level can deliver meaningful change. I am inspired by the opportunity to help shape those decisions and would welcome the chance to serve and support our community."
