Update on Travelling Safely/Spaces for People ETROs

Council officers are to bring forward options for discussion with residents on the Greenbank/Meadows quiet route.  This will be done via engagement with Community Councils, plus a drop-in session in a local venue and an online consultation.

Lib Dem Councillors managed to secure cross party agreement on a way forward for the Greenbank/Meadows quiet route, Braid Road and Comiston Road schemes so that improvements can be made promptly to address local concerns, whilst making our area more attractive for walking, cycling and wheeling.

Councillor Neil Ross said, “We did not propose removing any schemes. Instead, we demanded action from the Council on feedback received from residents and, in particular, suggestions for improvements from local cyclists.”

The Comiston Road scheme will also be reviewed to address some road safety concerns and to consider further improvements.
