Long awaited work to widened, resurface and properly light the path running behind Torwood Crescent has finally been agreed, and will be included on a contract due to start in early December

Upgrades to the path have been delayed time and again, but a contract is now in place for the West Edinburgh Link project, which includes the Torwood path.

Other parts of the project include cycling improvements on South Gyle Access, and improved pedestrian crossings at the Access junction with Bankhead Drive.

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, "I'm delighted that we are finally getting somewhere after three years of campaigning, and that a contractor will start before Christmas. Residents have waited for years for this path to be made safe."
