Solidarity after reported racially-motivated attacks

A month ago today, several constituents and two local business were targeted and heinously attacked on Leith Walk and Ferry Road respectively before Police detained the suspect.

A man has been charged and a court case is pending. Since then, Edinburgh Northern MSP Sanne Dijkstra-Downie and Councillor Jack Caldwell attended the anti-racism demo in Montgomery Street Park, as well as the Muslim Engagement and Development event at Blackhall Mosque, where several politicians, council officials, and Police Scotland did a Q&A. We're grateful to everyone who's taken the time to stand united against intolerance.

Lib Dem Leith Walk Councillor Jack Caldwell said: "Anti-Muslim hate has no place in Leith or Edinburgh, and what is clear is we can't keep doing exceptionalism and thinking Leith or Edinburgh is above creeping hate.
