The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service are currently reviewing the future of Marionville Fire Station.

The proposed closure of Marionville Fire Station is unacceptable and will impact Hillside, Abbeyhill, Leith, Pilrig, Broughton, Bonnington.

Leith Walk Lib Dem Councillor Jack Caldwell said "When I met a local Fire Commander last year, I was assured that tenement fires are treated with the highest seriousness and to ensure a quick arrival in case of traffic issues, units are dispatched from both McDonald Road and Marionville.

Additionally, when there was a very serious fire at Breadalbane Street in Bonnington last year, extra appliances were dispatched from Marionville.

I would urge everyone concerned to fill in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service's consultation on the proposal."

The consultation can be found on FireScotland and is open until 16th September.
