Queensferry Road - Pedestrian Crossing

28 Feb 2023

Residents will probably have noticed that the pedestrian crossing on the Queensferry Road/Orchard Brae junction heading towards Dean Bridge has been hit again, resulting in half of the barriers having to be removed as they were badly damaged.

This has caused much alarm for the high number of parents whose children use this crossing every day to go to Flora’s Primary School and to Broughton High School.

Hal Osler said, ”I share the concerns raised with me about this junction and how vulnerable pedestrians feel using it. Over the years with help from residents, attempts have been made to make it safer, by blocking up the secondary entrance to 26/7 Learmonth Terrace and painting the KEEP CLEAR signs outside Buckingham Terrace.

"Sadly it is clear that the junction needs to be reconsidered from a pedestrian point of view. I have written again to the road safety team to ask for this to be done.”
