Parking in Clerwood

2 Nov 2022

Residents in Clerwood recently presented us with a petition calling for proper solutions to the dangerous parking situation around St Andrews and Fox Covert Primaries.

This was delivered to councillors in October, and the Lib Dem team are determined to see action.

Local councillor Ed Thornley said, “Many residents raised this issue with us during the election campaign and we are working for results. It’s clear that the parking and traffic situation outside the schools cannot continue – I know of several cases where children have almost been hit due to parked cars.

“There is a big piece of council work coming forward by the end of the year looking into how we can make travelling to individual schools safer, and I have been assured that Clerwood will be included in that.

“In the meantime however, we are continuing to fight to get measures in place. It was great to see a crossing patrol back at the school earlier this year, but a zebra crossing on Clerwood Terrace would be another step forward.”
