Pansy Walk

18 Jun 2025

Scottish Water have confirmed that essential works to upgrade the storm overflow at Pansy Walk (off Balgreen Road) will begin Monday 9th June, as part of their Improving Urban Waters programme.

This means a temporary closure of the Water of Leith Walkway at Pansy Walk, with a signposted diversion via Balgreen Road and Baird Drive in place. We’re sorry for the short notice and any inconvenience caused.

The project aims to tackle sewer debris and improve water quality by installing a new screened overflow and outfall to reduce visible waste and odours. Initial works to divert a nearby gas main are expected to last six weeks, with the full programme running for around six months.

Please let us know if this causes any problems and we'll get back in touch with Scottish Water.
