Our view on potential tram line extensions

Concerned residents have been in touch to find out what the Lib Dem teams' views are on the possibility of a tram line extension being installed along the cycle path through Ravelston and Murrayfield. 

Local Lib Dem councillor XXX said, "The evidence so far would suggest that the tram extension to Newhaven has been a success, but to further extend it we need to see a good business case and proper funding plans. 

"In addition, we are completely opposed to any tram route being built on the established path network. These paths are a vital community resource for many, and should not be removed. 

"Any new tram extension through this area must take a different route, and not take these well-used paths away from the community."
