Orchard Drive Extended Pavement

Towards the end of last year the long awaited pavement “build out” was installed on the entrance to Orchard Drive. The point behind the build out was to improve the safety of pedestrians crossing this very wide area and also to slow the speed of cars turning into Orchard Drive. However, concerns have been raised by many residents that the new build out is not easy to see.

Hal Osler said, “I agree with residents about the lack of visibility and I have met with officers and police on site to look at the situation on the ground. What I have asked for and is now under consideration, is the installation of reflective bollards and hopefully improvements to the lighting.“
