Edinburgh West MP Christine Jardine met a cross party group of elected representatives and community groups from North Edinburgh to discuss how to support those hit hard by the economic crisis.
The response group R2 included councillors, MPs and MSPs whose aim is to bring together various projects to create a more coordinated approach across Drylaw, Muirhouse, Granton and Pilton.
The group is looking to identify financial support and accessible premises for the projects.
Afterwards Christine said; "It was terrific to hear everyone put aside political differences and focus on how to provide effective support.
"There was a tremendous amount of experience and willingness to use that to work together.
"We all know that this crisis is having a horrific affect on families, pensioners and less able members of the coomunity and those are the people we want to ensure get the support they need."
