Morningside road and pavement upgrades

As a result of an extra £11m in this year’s approved Lib Dem budget, the Council has doubled the number of road resurfacing projects carried out. Viewforth has seen a major improvement alongside Morningside Drive, Braidburn Terrace, Abbotsford Park, the southern end of Braid Road, Fox Spring Crescent, Balcarres Street and Craighouse Gardens, with Mardale Crescent, and Blantyre Terrace still to be done, plus pavements on Leamington Terrace, Gilmore Place and Pentland Terrace.

Councillor Neil Ross commented, “Getting the basics right is a top priority for this Council. Despite repeated cuts to Council funding by the SNP/Green Scottish Government, Lib Dem councillors want to protect spending on basic services."
