Mearenside Path Works

Energy works on the path between Mearenside and Burnside have left the path unusable and the grass around the edge increasingly muddy and slippery.

Local Lib Dem councillors Ed Thornley and Robert Aldridge have been working with the Council’s team to try and speed these works along.

Robert said, “Of course residents understand that utility works need to take place, but it’s understandable that people get frustrated when those works seem to be abandoned.

“There has been a period with no real movement and the situation only seems to be getting worse.

“That’s why the Lib Dem team recently asked the Council to explore a ‘per day’ charge on utility companies for road and footway works – to incentivise works being completed more quickly.”
