The long-promised works to upgrade the junction of Maybury and Craigs Roads, originally promised to take place in April 2023, have been hit by delay after delay.

The Lib Dem team have been working hard to get to the bottom of the delays and try to get things back on track.

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, “It seems that there was a problem with the junction designs, which means that Taylor Wimpey (who are delivering the works) have to apply to change the planning permission for the junction. They will then have to get a contractor in place and get the designs signed off again by the Council.

“It’s clear that the communication around what’s happening with this junction, by both Taylor Wimpey and the Council, has been pretty poor. We’re being clear in our discussions around this that this needs to improve – and we’ll be doing our best to keep residents as up to date as we can.”
