Local MSP Alex presses Scottish Government on Child Care Provision

Alex Cole-Hamilton, Liberal Democrat MSP for Edinburgh North Western has questioned the Scottish Government on their commitment to the expansion of childcare provisions.

Alex said, “Childcare is not available to those who need it and those who can find places for their children pay more than they can afford. The SNP Government cannot pretend there isn’t a problem, as thousands of families have been clear they want their Government to help them.

“Every child deserves the best start in life and the chance to flourish, no matter their background or personal circumstances. They need opportunities to have fun, discover their talents and grow in confidence and ambition.

“Parents need to know where to go when they need help. They should have real choice and flexibility over how to organise their lives and return to work if they want to.

“Our aim is to make Scotland the best place to grow up or raise children by ensuring proper support is available whenever and wherever you need it.”
