Lib Dems push to replant Balgreen trees

20 Feb 2024

Residents have contacted us about the street trees that were removed from Balgreen Road. We are keen to see these trees reinstated as soon
as possible as they add significantly to the appearance of the area as well as the environmental benefits.

Unfortunately, whilst we have managed to secure a commitment that the trees will be replanted, we have been told that due to the financial crisis that the council is facing, there is currently no budget to replant these trees in this financial year.

Councillor Euan Davidson said: “It is disappointing that Balgreen is missing out on an important environmental amenity due to the SNP and Greens council cuts. We will always do what we can to push for community improvements within the tight budgets that we have been given.”
