The local Lib Dem team has successfully stopped proposals to cut school budgets.

The SNP Scottish Government forced another £20 million cut on Edinburgh Council’s budget. This meant proposals came forward to reduce the budgets for teachers to spend at local schools.

Liberal Democrat councillors voted to reject the proposals, instead prioritising education funding.

Councillor Euan Davidson said: “We rejected these proposals because, unlike the SNP, we understand the impact school cuts have on young people. To be able to give students the best chances in life, it is crucial to invest in their education and ensure schools and teachers have the resources needed to get the job done.”
