Gorgie to Telford Road Cable Replacement

Scottish Power advised at the beginning of the year that work was to commence in the late Spring on replacing electricity cabling from Gorgie to Telford Road.
The cable replacement programme is the largest urban SP Transmission cable installation since 2006.
The works consist of two main contracts, starting with initial cable duct installation works to install the ducting system 6.4km between Gorgie and Telford Road substations.
Hal Osler said, "This project has been delayed but I understand that it is due to start in January 2024. Scottish Power have said that they will update all the councillors and community council in due course."
