Fighting for new trees for Leith Walk ward

"Lib Dems win increased £200k for planting new urban street trees"

The Edinburgh Liberal Democrats won £200,000 of funding for new street trees across Edinburgh and Leith.

Lib Dem Councillor Jack Caldwell said: "Unfortunately the tree in the image on McDonald Road was fell by a storm back in 2025 and still hasn't been replaced.

It was one of many cases that led us to fight in budget negotiations for an extra £200,000 for new street trees across the city in the coming year.

Leith Walk ward has some of the most densely populated neighbourhoods in Scotland. It deserves more urban street trees!"
