Fighting for a better Leith Walk in 2025
Over the course of 2025, Councillor Caldwell has demanded better for our area.
Councillor Caldwell said: "While a Councillor's main role is to make policy, scrutinise service performance, and support residents with queries, I've also proactively ensured the Council fix a number of issues in our area over the course of the year in my travels across Leith Walk ward.
With almost 100 overflowing bins reported and dozens of other fixes won including blocked drains, pavement trip hazards, and dead street lights, 2025 has been busy.
Thank you to everyone in our community who stands up to improve things and doesn't accept degregation and the staff who respond so quickly to these requests."
Some of the issues include:
- 84 overflowing communal waste and recycling bins (42 pairs of large bins) reported
- 51 flytipped items and piles of litter reported
- 19 instances of graffiti on Council property reported
- 12 overflowing litterbins reported
- 30 damaged road signs reported
This is on top of queries coming in from constituents.
Issues can be reported by residents directly at edinburgh.gov.uk/report.
