Fauldburn Path Lighting

4 Apr 2024

After several residents got in touch concerned about safety on the path running between Fauldburn and Craigmount Avenue North, the team have secured a commitment from the Council to install an additional street light on the path.

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, “I met with a couple of residents who told me that they don’t use this path because of how poorly lit it is – both because it means they feel unsafe, and because they cannot see the holes and ridges in the path surface.

“I raised this with the Council, and they have agreed an extra light on this stretch is needed, especially where the east-west and north-south paths cross. We’ve asked for a timeline for when residents can expect this to be done and will provide an update when we know more.

“It’s so important that the paths are properly lit, and get properly repaired, to make sure people can get about safely.”

The Lib Dem team recently secured extra funding from the Council budget to support safety improvements on path networks across the city.
