Council EV charging prices are too high

In response to residents’ concerns that high electric charging prices are putting them off buying an electric vehicle (EV), I have called for a review of electric vehicle charger pricing. The Council’s public EV chargers are priced per mile around the same as petrol or diesel, so there’s little incentive for going electric if you don’t have off-street parking. It’s not going to be a fair or just transition (to Net Zero) if the Council discourages take up of EVs amongst residents without access to off-street parking by charging high prices.

I am also pushing for action to permit safe and effective cross-pavement EV charging. I proposed the motion at around 3 hours 51 minutes on the webcast and the text is at item 8.3 here: https://democracy.edinburgh.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?CId=150&MId=7302&Ver=4
