Controlled Parking Zones

In September, the Traffic Regulation Orders Sub Committee considered three different Traffic Road Orders (TROs) that would introduce controlled parking in the Orchards/Craigleith, in the Grigors/Davidson/Kimmerghame/Werbers, and in the Kinnear/Aboretum areas. In the case of the Orchards/Craigleith it was decided that the controlled parking would not be implemented and instead more consideration will now be given to looking at adjusting the priority parking in that area. Consideration of the other two orders has been postponed, on the grounds that some information was provided late to the Sub Committee. Hal Osler says “I am delighted at the rethink of controlled parking for the Orchards/Craigleith, I know there are parking pressures in particular areas and will press officers for how this could be managed differently. In the case of the delay in considering the other two orders I share residents frustration that a decision on these has been deferred again, this time due to information being provided late. It is unfortunate that this will not be considered until later this year.”
