Controlled Parking Zone applications open this week

3 Jun 2023

Permit applications will open for the new parking controls in the N7 Leith Walk, Easter Road and Pilrig areas, with the prices below, open on the 5th and go live on the 26th.

They're designed to control the quantity of commuter parking for people going into the city centre, as well as allow the Council to enforce double-parking and inconsiderate parking which has blocked fire engines, buses and bin collections on narrower streets in the area.

Councillor Caldwell is currently liaising with the CPZ team to try and get resolutions to 6 major issues, including blocked garages, disabled bays and land/public carriageway disputes.

Zone N6 (Abbeyhill and east of Easter Road) markings will start being painted soon.

Details on how to contact the CPZ team and link to apply for permits is at https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/parking/strategic-parking-review-1/5.
