Cole-Hamilton pushes lack of mammogram appointments to top of NHS Lothian
Local Lib Dem MSP for Edinburgh North Western Alex Cole-Hamilton has written to the CEO of NHS Lothian after residents expressed concerns over the lack of mammogram appointments in Edinburgh.
Alex said, “Our NHS used to be the envy of the world. But now, too many people can’t get the access to the care that they need.
“I have had constituents share with me how they have struggled to get mammogram appointments across the capital city. Women are having to travel far outside of Edinburgh to be able to get access to the health care that they need. They deserve better than this.
“I have written to the CEO of NHS Lothian to express my grave concerns at the lack of access and availability women in Edinburgh North Western are faced with in regard to these appointments.”
“Scottish Liberal Democrats are clear. A large factor in boosting cancer survival rates is by early detection and treatment. Early and preventative care must be a priority for our NHS and Alex will continue to push for better for our NHS.”
