Cllr Caldwell wins commitments for Leith, Bonnington, and Broughton small businesses

10 Nov 2022

With Small Business Saturday on November 26th, Councillor Jack Caldwell made three asks from the Council administration to help support Leith's small indepdendent shops

These asks came in the form of a question to the Council leader and an amendment to Cllr Marion-Cameron's motion on Small Business Saturday.

  1.   A Pedestrian Improvement focus for shops, like on Easter Road. (PASSED)
  2.   Better promote shops behind roadworks, such as on Leith Walk this Small Business Saturday. (PASSED)
  3.   The Council leader to write to the UK Government Chancellor. (COMMITMENT)

Places like Bonnington, Leith Walk and Easter Road are ALREADY 20 minute neighbourhoods. They urgently need real support!

Thanks to Councillor Cameron and members from across the Chamber for backing these requests.
