Christine on the findings of the Ombudsman’s WASPI report

Responding to the publication of the findings of the Ombudsman’s WASPI report, MP for Edinburgh West and Liberal Democrat Women and Equalities Spokesperson Christine Jardine said:

“In 2017, I was first approached by women who had lost money due to the poor communication of these major changes to their pensions. 

“It was heartbreaking to see just how many women in Edinburgh West and beyond unfairly missed out because of how these changes were communicated.

“They have campaigned tirelessly for justice and compensation, and I pay tribute to the every woman across the UK who lobbied MPs and the Government for change.

“I urge the Government to finally accept the Ombudsman’s findings and recommendations as soon as possible. I hope Parliament will act if the DWP will not.”
