Christine meets Police to discuss resident concerns
Christine has been contacted by lots of residents because of the worrying number of more serious crimes being reported across West Edinburgh and the rest of the city.
At the start of June she had a meeting with Chief Superintendent David Robertson, the Edinburgh Local Commander and Inspector Neil Wilson to pass on concerns and she impressed on them how important it is to reassure the local community and made the point that local people wanted to see more Police on the ground.
Christine said: "They assured me that they are working to address the uptick in knife crime specifically and to address its causes. There are a number of initiatives taking place within the next few months and I asked them to make sure that these were communicated to local residents. We also agreed to have more regular meetings to discuss these issues.
“I am very grateful to everyone who has contacted me recently to raise concerns and would appreciate it if you would let me know when you report things so that I can be aware and can raise your concerns in future meetings with the Police.”
