CCTV at Craigleith Junction

5 Sep 2023

The CCTV camera that sits at the junction of Craigleith on the Northen pathways has been removed temporarily as it needs upgrading.

There is not at present a specific timeframe as to when the new camera will be installed so a request has gone in for a temporary one in the meantime.

In addition to this unit another camera will be sited near Ferry Road at the Red Bridge and there may be potential for further temporary cameras to be installed elsewhere on the pathways later on in the year.

Local Lib Dem councillor Hal Osler said, “I know that there are concerns about anti social behaviour in and coming off the cycle path network and these cameras are helpful in identifying issues.

"I will continue to work with the police and council operatives in pressing for the return of the cameras and their reinstatement as soon as possible.”
