Calling for a safer Easter Road

Councillor Jack Caldwell has called for vital safety improvements to the junction of Easter Road and Dalmeny Street / St Clair Street.
Junctions like Dalmeny Street / St Clair Street make pedestrians feel uncomfortable, and have unfortunately hosted a series of road traffic incidents over the last three years.
He has brought the issue to the Council's Transport and Environment committee on two ocassions, once in 2024 and once in 2025. Both times, it missed out on the funding criteria by one point.
Councillor Caldwell said “There is real concern at this junction for people's safety. Even when delivering a letter there this weekend, I witnessed yet another crash. Leithers deserve to be able to cross and travel this junction safely"
