Another call for action on low-cost side road zebra crossings

Low-cost side road zebra crossings are widely used overseas to make crossing the road safer for pedestrians. 

Our neighbours in England and Wales are making progress with trialling and potentially installing these simple, effective and inexpensive measures to improve road safety for everyone. But not in Scotland. The Scottish Government says it doesn't have the powers. Well, why not ask for them. 

Last week Councillor Ross persuaded the Council to press the Scottish Government to make a formal request for the devolution of the relevant powers so that Scotland can benefit too.
