Alex to host second Edinburgh housing summit

Given the housing crisis in Edinburgh, local Lib Dem MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton is leading efforts to bring stakeholders and officials together to build a strategy to answer Edinburgh’s housing need.

He convened the first such summit in May and vowed to repeat the exercise over a longer period in late summer.

Alex said, “At our first event, we successfully mapped out the causes and extent of the problem, around scarcity of housing and also the standard of some of the social housing where damp reports have increased by more than 800%.

"This next summit will focus on solutions and will, for the first time ensure the right stakeholders are working together for to help address this awful crisis.”
