A&E Waiting Times hit Record High

With a new record set for waiting times in A&E, local MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton has called on the Scottish Government to take immediate action.

Alex said, “The Government hasn’t hit its waiting time targets since July 2020. “In that time, almost a million Scots have waited too long for treatment – with no light at the end of the tunnel.

“We need to tackle staff burnout and retention, create a world-beating system to tackle Scotland’s mental health crisis, and scrap the billion-pound takeover of social care so that money can be spent on the community staff and services we so desperately need.

“The Liberal Democrats are putting forward positive and practical plans to fix our NHS – it’s time this SNP/Green Government took action.”
