41 Bus Removal

30 May 2023

The decision by Lothian Buses to remove the 41 service with very little notice and no discussion has been met with great frustration by residents.

Local Lib Dem councillor Hal Osler said, "Thank you to all the many residents that wrote to me with regards Lothian Buses shock announcement to remove the 41 and replace partially with the 47.

"It was unfortunate that despite best efforts Councillors were unable to change Lothian’s mind and residents have lost one of the only buses that took them from the Queensferry Road into the centre of the City.

"This is the second time this has happened with the 42 being removed last autumn also with no prior warning or consultation from Lothian."

A Lib Dem motion was agreed at the Transport and Environment Committee (TEC) and the Convenor is now going to write to Lothian to request a mechanism by which two-way communication with local councillors can be improved when route changes are being considered and in advance of final announcements being made.
