Pavement Parking Ban - Inverleith

19 Feb 2024

After many years the Council finally has new powers to penalise inappropriate or incorrect parking. This includes powers in respect of parking on pavements, double parking, parking at crossing points and parking on the verges between roads and pavements.

Local Lib Dem Malcolm Wood said, "People park on the pavement so that they leave space on the road, but this causes issues for many as it block safe access, forcing pedestrians to go around cars often on to the road itself. I'm pleased that Edinburgh Council is leading the way in discouraging this behaviour."

More information on the new powers can be found on the Council website.
