North Gyle and Gogarloch Flooding

2 Nov 2022

There have again been lots of issues regarding flooding this autumn, with serious cases in North Gyle, especially on North Gyle Road, Avenue and Loan, and across the Gogarloch estate.

Unfortunately, many residents have felt that Scottish Water have not been keen to take responsibility.

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, “We have been working with residents and local MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton to secure a meeting with Scottish Water to try and find a workable, long-term solution here.

“In the meantime, we have been pushing to make sure drains are fully cleared in susceptible areas. This amount of rainfall is now an annual event and we need to prepare for it properly. We will keep residents up to date as this progresses.”
