Your Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Edinburgh South
Andy is a passionate supporter of liberal principles. At the core of all policymaking should be the pillars of fairness, equality, dignity, and freedom. Our current political discourse has ventured far from these core ideals, and instead, partisan and parochial interests now dominate the way we are governed.
Andy wants to bring real solutions to the real problems faced by the people of Edinburgh South:
- Bring down the cost of living
- Save our schools
- Build affordable housing
- Preventing flood and end sewage dumping
In the time since the last General Election, we have seen the COVID pandemic, the cost of living crisis, and, recently, a housing emergency. All of these have been exacerbated by poor leadership and instability in both Holyrood and Westminster.
Edinburgh South deserves better - and Andy is the person to best represent us at Westminster!

About Andy
After completing an undergraduate degree in History and Politics, I moved to Edinburgh for a postgraduate degree in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies.
I lived in Seattle for six years, where I founded an education business as well as a mental health private practice. Since moving back to Edinburgh, I now run a consultancy that helps organisations support neurodiversity.
I believe in innovation and business and am a proud member of both the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the Merchant Company.
In my spare time, I play cricket, rugby, and tennis in Edinburgh. I am the father to two small daughters, who attend the local primary and nursery schools.
Liberal Democrats in Edinburgh South
In May 2022, the Liberal Democrats won 12 Councillors across the City of Edinburgh, holding 6 seats and adding a further 6. The Liberal Democrats are the second-biggest party in Edinburgh.
Our Councillors continue to be seen for their hard work and dedication. We continue to prove that we work hard for voters, prioritise community services and support people across Edinburgh.
Our two hard-working councillors in Edinburgh South are Pauline Flannery (Southside/Newington) and Neil Ross (Morningside). Both Pauline and Neil embody the Liberal Democrat values of localism, fairness, and sensible governance.
