Upcoming changes to the No.31 bus route

Lothian Buses have announced their plans to change the 31 bus route, so it serves West Craigs, running along Craigs Road and Turnhouse Road.

The 31 bus route has been planned to serve the new West Craigs development for some time, and with the work at the Maybury/Craigs Road junction moving along, Lothian have announced that this route change will be moving ahead. 

This means Lothian will change the 31 bus route; taking it out of East Craigs from the Terminus, left onto Craigs Road, then on to Turnhouse Road, down to the Maybury junction and then on into town as before. 

However Lothian Buses have also said that, without a bus gate on Turnhouse Road, they will not be able to run this route reliably because of the traffic pressures on Turnhouse Road and the change would not go ahead.

Only once the trial bus gate is in place, will the 31 bus route change to serve West Craigs.
