Residents regularly express frustrations with overrunning utility works, especially when it appears there is no one working on the site.

Presently the Council has extremely limited powers to force companies to complete works, so there is little incentive to get them done.

Lib Dem councillors on the Council's Transport and Environment Committee recently demanded that officers explore all avenues, including daily charging, with Transport Scotland and the Scottish Government to ensure that Edinburgh has the broadest range of powers to reduce the impact of utility works.

Thank you to everyone who has been touch. We will continue to push to ge more powers as we know and share frustration that this issue causes.
