After initial discussions with Police Scotland, it is unlikely that the toilets at Nicholson Square will re-open soon. This will be monitored by Council Officers. The Council website provides details of public toilets which are open across the city. This includes accessible toilets. Officers are currently preparing information of the accessible toilets which have wheelchair access, together with a ward breakdown. At present one facility which is closed for repair is Nicolson Square, SN. The Parks and Greenspace Investment update to Culture and Communities Committee confirms that £0.6m has been allocated for the provision of public conveniences in 2023/24 and that installation of permanent facilities is being progressed at the Meadows. A further update will be presented to this Committee on the Nicolson Square toilet and on the accessibility of public conveniences for wheelchair users, in October 2023.
