At the end of January, enforcement began on the new Pavement Parking Ban.

This means that parking on a pavement, or at a dropped kerb, is now an offence and can mean
getting a £100 fine.

Local Lib Dem councillor Robert Aldridge said, “We have welcomed the ban because it should help
with the challenges that dangerous parking can cause for those with prams or wheelchairs, and for
pedestrians more widely.

“However, there have been a small number of streets so far where there has been poor information
and communication regarding the new legislation. We’ve asked the Council to look into each of
these to get to the bottom of them, as it’s really important that residents have clarity.”
