The long-awaited Council report on how it proposes to deal with rat-running and the road surface on Parkgrove Drive is finally due to come to the Transport & Environment committee a the end of April.

The report comes after a cross-party motion by local councillors to address both the terrible state of the road, and the problem of drivers racing down Parkgrove Drive to avoid the lights at Drum Brae North.

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, “This has been a long time coming. We got cross-party support to tackle these issues a year ago now, and it has taken too long to come forward.

“I look forward to seeing how the Council plans to move forward, but the Lib Dems are clear – it must address the issues that residents tell us need to be fixed.”
