Maybury Cycle Lane

In October, a cycle lane was painted onto Maybury Drive without any notification of local councillors or residents.

The local Lib Dem team took the matter up with officers and the Convener of the Transport Committee.

Robert Aldridge said, “It’s completely unacceptable that no-one was told about this plan. Communities deserve, at the very least, to know what’s happening in their area. Many residents who got in touch told me it’s not about the proposals themselves, it’s about communication with local people.”

Ed Thornley added, “I asked questions to the Transport Convener about this, and he confirmed that this was a mistake and residents should have been informed. He confirmed that there are currently no further changes planned to road layouts in East Craigs and committed to informing residents of any future plans.”
