Clear answers still not forthcoming on Craigs/Maybury junction

Questions to the Transport Convener were lodged by the Lib Dem team at the last meeting of the Full Council, hoping to secure clarity for residents on exactly when works at the Craigs Road/Maybury Road junction will begin.

In answer to the question, "When is the reconfiguration of the Craigs Road/Maybury Road junction now expected to commence?", the team were told;

"Discussions have been ongoing with the housing developer for the neighbouring site regarding it [the junction]. These discussions are expected to conclude soon. Once these are completed, works on the junction are expected to commence."

Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, "This doesn't come close to bringing the necessary clarity to this situation. Residents deserve proper answers now.

"These works will have a knock on effect for so many local people, and they deserve to know what's happening and when.

"People are already moving in to the new development at West Craigs, and the junction will only get busier from here.

"I have spoken with many residents who will be affected by this work, and we will continue pushing for some much needed clarity and communication on what people can expect."
