Alex leads Housing Summit

Local Lib Dem MSP, Alex Cole-Hamilton, recently led a housing summit in the Scottish Parliament following a massive surge in housing problems in the city.

Bringing together stakeholders from the council, housing associations and the third sector, the summit focussed on the increase in reports of damp in social housing in the city (up by over 800%) and the huge problems of supply around student accommodation, social housing and mid market rent.

Speaking after the summit, Alex said: “This is the first in a series of events I plan to host in the hope it will concentrate minds of those who have the power to do something about the massive housing issues in our capital.

"I’ve never known such a volume of people with serious housing need and concerns seek my help - this is a crisis no question about it.”
