Edinburgh Council have launched a consultation to gather women's and girls' views on safety in public spaces.
You can take part in the consultation here. It is open until 20th September.
Local Lib Dem councillor Ed Thornley said, "I'm really glad to see this consultation taking place. Space planning in Edinburgh has so often been conducted by men, its past time that we sought the opinions and input of women and girls about how they feel about safety in our city.
"Women across Drum Brae/Gyle have raised this issue with me - especially following the reduction of the night-time Number 12 bus service. We're working hard to try and make our public spaces more accessible and feel safer.
"It's really encouraging to see movement on this in our area, such as the amazing work of the Friends of Gyle Park raising thousands of pounds to put lighting in the park, or the lighting planned for the path off Torwood Crescent.
"Please take part in the consultation if you can, and make your views heard."
