Why I am standing for re-election

As we approach the Council Election on 5 May, I feel it is appropriate to explain why I am standing for re-election.

Every week, I speak to people across Morningside Ward who are frustrated by the state of our city.

After a decade of SNP & Labour rule on Edinburgh Council, our roads and pavements are in a broken and crumbling state. Our local parks are neglected and our streets are getting dirtier. School budgets are being cut and recycling rates are going down.

I know that people want to see their concerns listened to and acted upon. I am out on the doorsteps all year round, talking with residents about local issues.

From tackling growing flooding problems to a lack of bins in our parks, from pedestrian safety to protecting Midmar Paddock – I want to listen to your ideas and work with you to make our city a cleaner, safer and a better place to live.

At the last council elections, I was delighted to be elected to represent the community I live in. This time, I’m standing so I can continue to be a strong voice standing up for Morningside Ward.

In the Council election you vote by numbers.  If you want a hard working, local resident speaking up for you at the Council and keeping in touch all year round, please give me your first preference.

Lib Dem Council Manifesto

The 2022 Lib Dem manifesto “Standing up for Edinburgh” includes five key priorities:

  • A council that listens and gives power to the people
  • A council that gets the basics right
  • A council that gives children a world class education
  • A council with the environment at its heart
  • A council that delivers a fairer and more equal city
